planning

Today I want to thank two lovely bloggers. One for sharing a wonderful website with me The Happiness Project. The other for allowing me to share my life story with her. I'm not on a mission for the next two months to find a place I'm happy in and to learn all that I can about my little boy. I want us to have a wonderful summer.
I am in a gathering of information phase that has just begun moments ago. I want to learn all there is about Autism. I've mentioned that Aaron is on the spectrum. I forgot that I can look this up on the internet and find ways that can help him. More likely I just got too comfortable with the way things are now. I want more for Aaron and for me. I want us to have a wonderful summer.
I need to figure out a plan, a routine for our summer days. I've got two months until the last day of school. Last summer he had a worker who came in and took him out. Aaron did not like this service since he was way bored with the outings. Also the outings can't be too long as they have to be spaced according to his medical routine of every 2-3 hours. I am the only person besides his father who is qualified (allowed) to apply any medical procedures to Aaron. Tube feedings and catheterizations are considered medical procedures. I want us to have a good summer.
Perhaps I could have someone come in the home to watch him a couple hours and I get out alone. The social worker has stated in previous years that I need to get out. I need time to recharge those batteries. Aaron needs to get out as well. I feel more comfortable taking Aaron out myself. It's a lot work but I'm up for that challenge this year. We got a stroller!! I'm going to sign for it tomorrow. I hope it's red.
Thus this brings me back to learning what I can about Autism. I want to learn how as a parent I can deal with this. I've never thought of connecting with other parents online. Aaron has physical disabilities and those were my main concerns. I didn't think to "feed" his growing brain as well. Together I must say we have come quite a ways. It is through my own persistance that Aaron is speaking. Of which I am most grateful. Without the ability for us to communicate I'd be in an insane asylum about now. Seriously.
There are days where I want to hide in the closet. I do not want to spend my summer in the closet. When Aaron is finished school he has 25 hours of unstructured time during the week. It is my job as his parent to find a routine that stimulates him as well as being rewarding and fun for both of us. I want us to have a good summer.
I'm making big purchases lately...thanks to that Sears card...I know I swore it off but I'll pay it I know I will. I have goal this summer to get Aaron outside as much as possible. I made a recent purchase of a 3 wheeler tricycle . I've got some work to do in order for him to be able to use it. I need to work some strapping system to keep his feet on the pedals. I've just ordered this mini trampoline because my boy LOVES to jump. Even if he's only sitting on his bum while jumping imagine his glee when he's got super bounce with this! I also ordered this tent. I ordered it big enough for all the little people that go through this home. Nothing is more fun than playing in a tent to hide from the hot summer shade! The next thing we'll need is a little swimming pool and I think we'll be all set. I can pick up sports things that we can do together at Walmart sometime. These are all things for Aaron. I have a goal for myself as well for the summer to get me a bicycle and ride it!

I think we're going to have a great summer!

Girl, I have been missing you! I loved this post! I have a mini trampoline. I love it! It's very good for you to jump! My kids love their pool. They've been bugging me to put it up already. Whoa kids...I'm not ready yet. We still need to level the spot where I'm going to put it. I'm so proud of you. I love all your plans! The stroller is awesome!! Love and hugs!!
