curtain

Finally a room complete with a matching curtain.

There are two points I'd like to mention:
I need to get a new rod and lower it a couple inches so the bottom of the curtain is even with the sill.
It's done! And now I can move on to other things.
With such an accomplishment I feel like I could actually do this again.
I feel it in me to make the little boy another quilt for his bed.
This one will be more kid friendly with brighter colours and more colours and kid prints.
Time to go fabric shopping?? (I'll wait until the fall to start this project then I can get him some pumpkin fabric oh and finish other unfinished things around here.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been having some weird dreams lately. They started about 2 weeks ago and are mostly fraught with feelings that come from my childhood. They are so disturbing emotionally that they actually wake me up. I'm trying to figure out what they mean. I'm beginning to think they revolve not neccessarily on my past but on the present and involve family members.
I'm finally understanding the concerns of so many around me how I'm not taking the time for myself and my door seems to be a revolving door for little people under 5 feet. I have gained a sense that I'm being taken advantage of.
My downfall is that I love these people very much. I have exercised my right to say no but it has gone unheard.
My motto for all the little children in my life is: Try as hard as I can not to make them feel less than who they are. When their parents do this to them on a constant basis it hurts the little girl inside and I want to wrap them up and hug them forever. I can't do this. I can't save them. I need to save myself. The little girl inside me is reliving what she went through, hence the dreams.
I love these kids so very much it hurts sometimes. They are my way of making the little girl inside me feel better. However the grown
up me needs some peace and quiet.
It's time to explain to them that they are loved and that its for their parents to raise them on the weekends.
I'm taking back my weekends as much as it will hurt me and the kids.
I think it will be best for everyone.
It's come to the point where I need to scream to them:
I'm not a visitational parent!!!
I totally agree with you, Laura!
The curtain is so beautiful! I sure hope that Aaron likes his new pillowcase and curtain!
Remember, if you don't say "no" then who will? Stand up for yourself and don't let them walk on you, girl! You are a wonderful roll model for those kids, don't let them take advantage!! Love and hugs, T
and good that the revolving door (although very loving) is taking a needed peace-of-mind-break.
