It's been a rainy week. For a brief moment we say sun on Monday. Around 10 am I grabbed my umbrella and the 7 dollars change I had sitting on the table left over from making change for Aaron's school pictures, and I went for a walk. I fought with my umbrella the entire way but still managed to enjoy my walk, with music in my ears to drown out my thoughts. I made it to the thrift store where I bought a few long sleeve shirts and an interesting self-help book. I'm addicted to those things but I never seem to finish them. After the thrift store I went to see the wonderful ducks who haven't migrated yet. They better hurry, snow is coming. I then trudged back home and I lost the fight with the umbrella as it snapped and the top broke off. Ah well. Such is the life of an umbrella.

No sewing yet this week but there was some new fabric purchases yesterday. The bright colours on the right are for this. The neutrals are because I just love neutrals! The green on the far left is for the binding on the quilt you saw here. Thank you for all those lovely comments by the way. I wanted to point out it is for this swap and it's a doll quilt size. It won't be keeping anyone warm, unless the recipient has a small pet or child.

A walk is so relaxing even if its a wet one, it recharges your batteries.

Aw, your umbrella was beautiful, I'm sad that it broke.
We'll see those birds in our parks soon!
Those fabrics are so fun and bright, perfect for your propeller quilt for Aaron!
Maybe you can use the fabric from the umbrella to make something else!! :) It is really pretty!
They don't make umbrellas like they used to. I've broken the last 2 I've used.
Anyway, I'm glad that you got out and have some new shirts to wear. I sent you some books and I know that you'll finish at least one of them!! ;)
Hugs and love, T
You can re-use that umbrella!
Beautiful colors, I love those circular quilt blocks. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I love umbrella breaking weather. I love weather in general.
I will have to say Texas has some great thunder and lightning storms. I love them. My kids think I'm nuts.
I can't wait to see Aaron's quilt. So fun and bright.
