Sunday Stash

My favourite part of planning a quilt is purchasing the fabrics.
My mom likes purple and I had very little purple in my stash.
I remedied this with not one but two trips to my favourite little shop in Maine.
I came home with these pretties.
purples for my mama
I'm learning that if you like something buy more of it than you usually would.
When collecting fabrics with a specific quilt in mind I usually buy third yards and even quarter yards. The reason being is that I love scrappy quilts. This time with a great sale going on I became a little adventurous and bought half yards.
And these pretties on the second trip.
The last one on the right is another "just because" purchase.
more purple and a pink too
Here is a progress photo of my now named Sunshine Quilt for project improv:
project improv update
To date I have 39 ( wonky half log cabin) blocks done, with 57 left to make.
It's taking forever as it involves a lot of tedious sewing and trimming.
A wise friend told me to pause and enjoy the process
This isn't the final arrangement.
I was just too excited to see them on the design wall to see how they looked together.
Music that's making me happy lately

wow nice fabrics... I like to see your quilts in progress.
I read back to the last post too, and you sound very self-assured about your view of that unacceptable treatment, and your personal happiness... regardless of said "relative"... so it's good to hear this.

I love your sunshine quilt so far! That bottom fabric in the first photo is GREAT.

I love shopping too...at one point, I would buy a yard at a time, and then realized I wasn't using them all. Probably because I have started to really love scrappy quilts too.

Stash pictures make me happy :)
