Definately not the year of the tree

Wednesday morning after sending Aaron off to school, I sat down in my computer chair to quietly munch on my bagel with cream cheese and peruse my favourite blogs and sip my tea. All of a sudden I hear a sudden crash behind me. I get up and look and as you can see the tree fell over. Stupid made in china plastic tree stand couldn't withstand the weight of all the ornaments and snapped. Luckily my quick thinking saved the day. I ran outside to get the tree stand from the old tree, which was still out there due to it not fitting in the trash can. The old tree stand is made of a sturdy metal with screw pins to hold the tree up. It did the trick. Unfortunately some ornaments perished in the disaster. Fortunately they weren't treasured ornaments.
I looked at a couple stores for new ornaments yesterday but I have a hard time paying full price knowing full well in a week or so they'll all be half price after Christmas. I'll wait and get some awesome ones for next year. In the meantime I'm hoping to make a few during the week, if I have time.

Aww, I thought your picture yesterday was so beautiful, and then when I saw this I just groaned! UGH, so sorry for you! Glad nothing important broke!

Laura! your poor tree!

one year i was at my SIL's house and her cat climbed up into her tree and knocked it over - broke half their ornaments.

i didn't feel too bad because they were generic newish baubles, nothing with too much sentimental value. (does that make me mean?)

i know i would be HEARTBROKEN if a any of my old favorite got broken. so happy none of your favorites were damaged!
