I'm modeling the latest in summer scarf fashion.
Actually it's chain pieced squares that I'm making triangles out of.
I've spent a lot of time sewing this week trying to forget how poor I am.
Technically I'm not poor. Back in April Madame Budget challenged me to save money. I hemandhawed about it in May and June and I was stuck to save the lump sum for July which left me little wiggle room for anything else for 2 weeks. This is where all that sewing is coming in handy...I'm trying to forget there's money in the bank that I could spend and I'm using what I have and finishing projects already started. It's working. I have 12 days before my meeting with Madame Budget to show her that I can save money.
But I swear the minute our meeting is over I'm hightailing it over to the store because I'm planning a big birthday bash!!
As a joke I asked Cute Neighbour and Grumpy Neighbour if they'd come over for cake and ice cream on the 17th in celebration of my 35th birthday. They said yes. I thought they'd say no. So thus a party was born. I invited the two sisters two appartments over, and the single lady in the apartment next door. While I was at it I went ahead and invited my bestfriendforever to come on over. She says she'd be done work around 5ish or so. I thought to myself hey...let's make this even more fun and have a hotdog party while I'm at it!
Next week I'm ordering a cake. First time in my life I've ever ordered a cake. I'm not telling you the design though!
I'm so excited I can't wait!!
Aaron's bangs got a trim. I have no idea what that fist is for. I guess if I were him I'd want to knock me out too sometimes! The nerve of me to scare him to death with hair clippers. (He has a deathly fear of hair trimmers, the kind that give buzz cuts. When I went to find my hair cutting scissors they were in the box and uh oh...you'd think the clippers had spirits of the devil in it the way that boy carried on.) Thankfully he doesn't hold grudges and a little musictime soothes any little boy.

You look lovely! I thought you were wearing stick'em notes. I'm sure the scarf will be beautiful!! I think that I recognize that shirt that you're wearing. It looks beautiful on you!! Wish I could come to your party. Tessa wants to go out for tea, dinner and she wants a party too! I'd better get busy!! Hugs and love, T
heheh I thought they were sticky notes too at first... so when are you going to revel your cake design?
I did think they were sticky notes... ;)
How cool you're having a party!! Happy early birthday lest my mind do what it's been doing lately and I forget on the day of!
Two other things:
1) Cute shoes a couple of posts back and
2) Looks like a good book! Was it fun?
You look really sweet with your scarf!! I enjoyed your post today !
Thanks for coming by my blog,
Diane
Have a wonderful party! Be careful....ordered cakes are wicked good! Make sure you save a big fat frosting rose for yourself if there are any!
OH I wish I could come ;) Sounds like a great time can't wait to see the cake photos.
Aarons hair looks cute!
Tristan is horrified of the clippers. I put him in a highchair and buzz his hair super fast he screams the entire time. Luckily he is forgiving too. I put him in front of the mirror this last time and it wasn't as bad. I think his reflection distracted his attention.
