so it's thursday already

the state of my sewing room wednesday
it's a work in progress.
i love my new machine!
i'm quite surprised at how smooth it sews.
i have no kick-back, no wanting to jam up.
it sews like buttah baby!

My new sneakers!
I figure Aaron gets new sneakers once or twice a year so why not me?
And they didn't really cost me anything. How is that you ask?
Well I had 12 or 13 garbage bags of recyclable bottles and cans in my shed.
I'd been throwing them in there since I moved here.
I thought since I had a ride today I'd bring them to the recycling center and see how much I'd get in exchange.
My ride asked how much do you think you have Laura?
I guessed around 12-16$. Estimating about 1 dollar a bag. She estimated 21.
I had $50.70!! I was pleasantly surprised!
So I went to the good shoe store. No bargains for me today!
I got my guy some new headphones with the leftover money.
I'm dissappointed as his present hasn't arrived yet. I ordered it late August!
I called Tuesday and they said it was in the mail.
I'm leaving Monday!! I want him to have his present for the trip!
We have the old one but it doesn't work as well.
I also have a feeling we'll be there for a while.
Aaron needs new braces for his ankles and that adds a few extra days to our stay.
Hotels are boring!

Here is a picture of my tomato harvest.
Don't let the picture fool you, they are quite small.
I have to say it was fun trying this.
I will grow stuff again next year.
I love to watch things grow.
I know what to do differently next year!
~~
Everything is well here. Aaron's adjusted well to going to school. He's gotten quite the attitude lately, although I think comes with age perhaps. Love that kid though. And I do miss him during the day. It's getting better. I liked the idea of making myself a routine schedual for when he's in school. Thank you Apron Thrift Girl for that wonderful idea! And thank you for all of your support and lovely comments. You all are such nice people!

I love that your shoes were free. That is my favorite kind of shopping. They are too cute as well. I hope your gift arrives in time for Aaron.
I'm so glad my idea helped. Let's just say starting next Monday I'm making one for me. Maybe together we can go back to "school".
