Here's a fun little Christmas meme for you:
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper. I'm the one who hoards the gifts until a few days before Christmas and I'm frantically wrapping like a maniac. I hate wrapping. Sometimes I try to pawn off my wrapping to others. I'm very successful at that! There are so many people who love to wrap presents. Why?
2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial with lights already attached. I put it in the shed last winter and wasn't sure if it would make it through the year. I checked out the lights last week and they still work!
3. When do you put up the tree? I put up the tree the second weekend in December when I have little elves who come over to help me decorate the tree. I really don't like doing it all by myself.
4. When do you take the tree down? The day or 2 after Christmas.
5. Do you like eggnog? LOVE eggnog!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? We had the Christmases of all Christmases. My parents gave way too many gifts for us to actually appreciate one gift in particular. There is just so many to remember! I remember the year I was 5, my mom left my dad on a whim and went and holed herself up in a hotel somewhere. She gave us an early present and I remember playing with a walking robot.
7. Earliest Christmas memory? I also remember that same year watching Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer. I was 5 and so so very enthralled by Rudolph! Later on as I watched it year after year I always had a kinship with Rudolph. People didn't let me play in their games either. And then his father was mean to him. I love the island of Misfit Toys. I thought I belonged there. I love Cornelius and the elf who wants to be a dentist. I loved his determination!
8. Hardest person to buy for? Aaron (I try very hard not to buy gifts for others on my list, if I can make it I will, if not then they don't get anything, sorry. I'm debating if I'm going to give something for Aaron's teacher and 3 assistants....that's a lot of work no??)
9. Easiest person to buy for? Me!! And yes I wrap them and put them under the tree!
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? I do neither, I'm lazy.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Well I can remember a bad memory. I was 14. My parents bought me a nice warm winter jean jacket. The way it was made, back in the acid wash days, I thought it was second hand and asked. They were insulted and banished me to my room. I felt bad. I did love the jacket regardless.
12. Favorite Christmas movies? Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer(and all the other stop animation shows from the 60's), It's a Wonderful Life, A Muppet Christmas Carol,Elf, A Christmas Story, Elf, and many more
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? This year I started in September even before the boy's birthday! I found some cool things in Montreal and thought they'd make great presents for Christmas.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I think so, I give things A has played and forgotten to my nephew
15.Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Food
16. Favorite Christmas song?
It's Rob Thomas! My favorite singer of all time!! I discovered this song 3 years ago.
18.Travel at Christmas or stay home? Christmas will be at home this year...I think? (There's been a falling out with my one relative that lives here a couple weeks ago, so at the moment I don't exist. Maybe he'll change his mind. I'm not worried about! I'm making my own plans with my boy.)
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? If I tried hard enough I could, but I'm lazy. Go google it if you really want to know.
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Both and days before as well. Maybe not so much this year since I'm trying to keep things low key.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? See number 18. Also the commercialism of it. And so many people (#18 and his offspring) don't always appreciate my handmade presents.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? All of them! I love ornaments and can't have too many.
24.Favorite dinner food? All of it.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year?
Peace, love and fun.
The little tree was decorated for the boy's dresser in his room.
