We've been living in this house for 1 year and 7 months. Walking in Aaron's room I've always felt so cramped and claustrophobic. He just had so much stuff and there was no way I could get rid of anything, he needed it!
I think it's been since last summer that I've been thinking of switching rooms with him. My room was bigger. I put it off for as long as I could but finally set a deadline that it would be done during the spring sometime.
What better way to welcome the first day of spring on Friday than doing a big clean up and tidy and a room switcheroo!
Aaron's room before.

Friday I sent him off to school and at 8:30am I got to work. I was determined to finish this by the time he got back from school. Mission accomplished! I can't believe how much room he has to move around in this room. It's just absolutely wonderful for both of us and I am thrilled! I think the best thing of all was Aaron did not balk at the change. He's actually impressed with it. I am apprehensive of leaving some of his toys on the shelfing unit. I figure he's older now and should be given a little more responsibility of keeping things tidy.

All this floor space to sprawl around on and mess up if he so chooses.
He saw his room after school on Friday for a few minutes. He just kept looking around while sitting in his wheelchair. When he came home on Sunday I think he forgot that I had changed rooms because he went to what is now my room and got a little confused. Once he remembered he was very happy and made himself at home.
The best part was being able to empty the living room closet of all his toys and putting them in seperate bins (the green ones). I'm just so happy that now all his things can be contained in HIS space and not all over the house.
The junk that I used to have in these closets was moved to the living room closets.
(That's a clean up project for another day.)

Laura it looks great and wow look at all that room.
I second Junior's emotion.
I really like the quilt against the Spider-Man rug. I don't know what it is; perhaps the Spidey size is perfect & clear.
Brilliant idea! I think the change in rooms looks great!
