Looking for Christmas::1::

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments yesterday. I have to take time to reflect and remember of so much that I have. Being who I am I've always, always focused on what I didn't have. I forgot to focus on what I do have. He greets me almost everyday with a smile and a good moooor-Ning.
Yesterday, or the day before, I can't remember, I wrote on a little mini magnetic white board : Christmas is Coming! I drew a little tree and present and stuck it to Aaron's dresser. (Aaron has a 1950's metal hospital dresser that was given to him when he was born. It's fun to stick all kinds of magnets on it.)
This morning as I'm trying to use the washing Aaron came to find me and in the doorway announced to me that Christmas was coming. I told him yes in about 20 days or so. He kept pointing to the back closet in our hallway. I asked him if he wanted to decorate the house and he repeated, Decorate the house? Well shucks I'll be! He does "get it" a little more this year than last year. Silly me, I underestimate him all the time. So together we went to the back closet and pulled out two big crates of decorations. I chose what we could put out and what would stay in the box. Aaron wanted the little musical band that plays with the touch of a remote. Sadly mama didn't have any batteries for them but he still lined them up and chattered with them while I decorated the rest of the house.

Looking for Christmas::1::

This is day one of my series Looking for Christmas. I'll be on the lookout for more Christmas related things and I'll post them here everday, if I can find that many things that are Christmas-y.

My boy is too quiet, I must go take a peek at him. I put him for a "nap" which is really a time out since he had a meltdown after lunch. He wanted his MP3 player but it doesn't work anymore. Repeatedly I had to tell him this and he just didn't comprehend that it was gone forever. Pssst: papa got him one for Christmas but don't tell him!

I'm so thrilled for you both!! I know how ecstatic when Avigail wanted a "Christmas" which is what she calls anything connected to the holiday.
I too have to go, we're having a melt down about something that doesn't exist, oh the fun.

I think it's just like Diane said, "keep looking for the good stuff". And the good stuff IS happening all the time.......just in tinier doses. :) Hugs to you, honey!

You know I left you a comment on the last post and now it's not there. Does the thought count? Probably not? (sigh)

Hurray! I'm so happy that he's participating a little more this year and you get to share some of that with him. It is a great feeling, and I'm so happy you get to have that. ((laura))
