~Happiness Project~

I woke up Saturday feeling alright. Although it was 7 am and it was too early to be up on a Saturday but that's life when you got a little boy who doesn't have weekend clock that allows him to sleep in. After caring for him and fiddling around on the computer it was 8.30 am. Still too early to call anyone. I fiddled some more and then it was 10 am. Took care of Aaron and then I started to feel myself crash. In came the rolling clouds of oh woe is me on this lonely Saturday. A friend called me around 11 and then I crashed even harder. So lucky of her to be able to sleep in on a Saturday. I was having a pity party pretty much. After sharing my woes with her and hanging up I realize I was in control of the kind of Saturday I was going to have. So I said to Self: Do something that makes you happy! I went through my little list in my brain of what makes me happy and it dawned on me that making my bed makes me really happy.

I wasn't going to stop there trying to find things to make me happy so I decided to work on Sewing Olympics. A little flickr group I'd put together (with the idea coming from ByNeedleandthread) to motivate likeminded sewing enthusiasts to work from a to do list. We have the duration of the actual Olympics to finish as much sewing as we can muster. I will be awarding a prize for the most Gold medals. Gold medals are awarded for each "Event" which is a task on the to do list.
In the end Saturday turned out to be a splendid day. As well as Sunday too. It's rare weekends like this where Aaron is amiable the whole 2 days with nary a meltdown or whine session to be had. I love weekends like this where I can be so productive. And it all started from just making my bed.
My productivity:
Friday: Pin Basting the Grey Quilt
Gold Medal in Pin Basting
Saturday and Sunday: Row 10 Quilting Bee Row for Calamity Kim :
OMG I finished Event 2!!
Yesterday was Valentine's Day. We didn't Celebrate Aaron and I but we did work on his Valentine's last Thursday. I set up my new tripod (can we say yayyyyy!!!) and snapped a bunch of pictures. I chose the best three and made a little collage:

I hope your weekend was filled with lots of love and happiness!
I hope you enjoy the same for the coming week!

Sounds like your weekend wasn't a "bust" after all. Just shows that sometimes it's just mind over matter! It's great seeing you so happy and productive!

Sounds great! Sometimes we have to give ourselves a kick in the butt to get us moving and out of a funk. I agree that 7am on a Saturday is too early, Little Bit does not agree lol.
