Which turned into this:
This is for Upstatelisa's April Row 10 Flickr Quilting bee. She asked for a Gee's Bend inspired piece using solids. I gathered up what solids I had around the sewing room. Watched a couple video tutorials, spoke to a sewing friend and went to work today. I was surprised at how fun it was to actually sew curves!
I'm among a talented bunch of women in this Row 10 group at flickr. Each month when the specifics come out of the Queen Bee's preferences for her quilt rows I get very nervous that they'll even like what I make! After 3 months I haven't had a complaint yet. So I guess I must be somewhat good and they like what I've been making so far. I'm a very happy sewist.

I skipped over here via your Flickr invitation - that Gees bend run is absolutely stunning. I LOVE it. How in the heckity heck do you do it? Which tutorials? I want to do some too! X
