Of diapers and boys

A nice lady asked me if I'd make a some diapers for her daughter's baby*not*dead*doll.
I drafted a pattern based on the dimensions given to me and an itty bitty doll diaper she had.

I used some quilted flannel on the inside to soak up the water for when the doll drinks.
I also tried my hand at using bias tape (making my own!) and sewing onto curves.
Not an easy task. One diaper down, 11 to go. IF this one fits!
I shall know tomorrow when she brings me the doll for the try-on.

Aaron's Antics
What would a post be without the antics of this boy?

He was fussing at me for something or other. Oh I think it has to do with the phone. He has a meltdown every.time.the.damn.phone.rings. Huh? Yeah. I curse those who call me (under my breath) when he's home. (Kidding!) His dad says he doesn't have this issue at his place. I have no idea why when he hears that phone ring he stops what he's doing comes to find me and starts saying all in one breath:
"Ohokaygoodbyehaveagooddaygoodbye" He will repeat this at least 18 times until I'm off the phone. Then he'll repeat it another 19 times until and start to fall apart. By this time I've gone bonkers myself and must run away and start Laura's Looney Lala Circus train.
(You're invited!)
It's gotten to the point where I'm finding places to hide to make telephone calls. Then I hear him coming and I have to hurry up and end my conversation. He ain't no fool I tell you cuz there he goes again "Ohokayhaveagooddaygoodbye". Another 12 times...by the 13th time I've able to distract him enough with Hey you want to play on the computer? It works.
I dont know what will happen when we have no more internet access though. I just might not have any marbles left by April 30th.
Suggestions are welcome.

While we are on the subject of this exasperatingly annoying and frustrating sweet, delightfully darling child of mine, I was wondering if anyone had any questions for me. Is there anything you would like to know about Aaron. His past, his present, his future?
I enjoyed this post from Michelle over at Big Blueberry Eyes and I wanted to do the same in regards to Aaron.

One last shot of him in the corridor of our home. We have VERY WIDE hallways here. Here's an action shot. He was getting up to go to his room since he got bored just laying there. I also thought these shots were kinda cool because he will grow and he won't always be as long as the hallway is wide. I'd like to remember to take another photo next year to compare. He's a few inches shorter than the hallway.

This new blog is pretty! I like the calm blue.

Is it the particular sound of the telephone ring? If it's a mobile, is it the ringtone?

I like idea of using the hallway to measure him.

CUTE diaper! I sewed some cutie diapers for Jill when I was cloth diapering her. The rest I bought off of eBay. Spent way too much, but they were irresistible.

Is it amazing how our children suddenly need our attention when we're on the phone?

I want to know his birthday. I know it's kind of personal so you could e-mail it to me. I'm wondering what I'm going to do while you're on an internet break. I will miss you my friend. I love the diapers! I wish I had 1/2 of your talent. My girls would have loved some for their baby dolls. I hope you're getting paid for all your talent! Have a super week! Sending you big hugs!

Cute diapers! My sister used to have one of those dolls. Even when I was a kid, I thought they were too much like the real thing. :D

The diapers are great. You ***are*** getting compensated for your hard work in some form, I hope?
They are sweet, anyway. Hmmm I wonder too if it's the phone sound that's got him upset, or the actual talking on the phone. What if you pick up the phone and pretend like you are talking? Same reaction? Just curious.
Anyway that reminds me, I gotta call you (before he gets home! LOL!!!)

that diaper is too cute! You need to open an online store with all the creative things you make! So are you taking orders? LOL Kayla would love one for her doll!

Aaron is funny w/the phone - maybe he doesn't like you on it or something?

I have a couple questions for you. A while ago you were trying to get Aaron to eat more food, or at least try them. How is that going? Is he at least taking bites of more food?

Also, does Aaron help you getting in/out of his wheelchair/stroller/wagon etc?

Hope those were ok questions!
