Constructed in 1841 at the height of the hostilities between the United States and England, the The ******** Blockhouse was one element in a long line of defence installations stretching all the way to the province of Québec. It was destroyed by a lightning strike in 1855 and reconstructed, thanks to the generosity of the community, in 2000.
I actually remember this being rebuilt some 10 years ago.
This is just a couple streets over from my house. I decided today to take a little walk with my camera and my tripod. I always thought this would make a fun photo. I was right! Only after I took the photo did I realize my clothes match the soldiers colours. Where's my musket??
I'll be back later with a moment of Aaron's week, which I actually forgot to take a photo of so I'll have to do it today!

That's hilarious that you and the soldier are sporting matching outfits! Too cute! And that is a pretty impressive building there. I'll be looking forward to seeing future installments of posts on where you live. It's exciting to this ol' Oklahoma gal...:)
I was thinking the same thing....was the outfit coincidental or on purpose?
Great photo...the weather looks really nice.
