Slowly, slowly through bits of time here and there I have managed to work on my dqs swap. I finally managed to piece the top together and I have now commenced the hand quilting phase. It was hard for me to find the energy while I waited for that phone to ring with a surgery date for Aaron.
I got tired of waiting and putting everything on hold and finally just called up some people responsible for making appointments. Imagine my dissappointment when I was told that the paper work got messed up and Aaron won't be having surgery this summer afterall but middle to late fall. Which means I have to wait another 2-3 months for a date.
In the meantime I will keep busy taking care of my Aaron, my little friends and sewing too.
I really want to finish this up. It's been waiting for me on the kitchen table for a few weeks to quilt. I steal a few minutes here and there making a few swirls at a time. I'm going to challenge myself to finish up the quilting this week.
This is a flickr bee quilt that was started last year. I wanted to see what the rows looked like together. I have another row to piece together from some rescue blocks sent to me recently and I have my own row to make. I would really like to have this done for Aaron's birthday next month.

So sorry to hear the surgery got pushed back. How miserable that you wait and wait only to find out you have to wait. I hope you get lots of quilting done in the meantime! Have a great August!
Oh Laura, I'm sad for you. I know you wanted that surgery done and over with and now you have to continue to wait some more. Phooey! Love your swirly quilting.......can't wait to see the completed project!
